This year I learned what it takes to be that guy looking down from the top step of the Expert All Mountain World Championship podium at Downieville. About 5,000 miles, in fact. And that it feels pretty good. For 5 years I've stared up at the guys on the Expert All Mountain podium, wondering how it could be possible. Now I know its just a lot of hard work and time on the bike.
Good fortune was really on my side too. Stosh Bankston flatted in the DH which was a bummer for the team, but good luck for me.
